World Consumer Rights Day 2021 was celebrated on March 15 with the theme “The Sustainable Consumer” to spread awareness about environmental breakdown and global climate changes.
This day is celebrated on the 15th of March every year to raise global awareness about consumer rights and needs.
World Consumer Rights Day was inspired by President John F Kennedy, who sent a special message to the US Congress on 15th March 1962, in which he formally addressed the issue of consumer rights. He was the first world leader to do so.
It is led by Consumers International, a not-for-profit membership organisation for consumer groups around the world. Its head office is based in London, England.
National Consumer Rights Day 2021: All of us are consumers in some way or the other. In today’s day and age, safeguarding consumer’s rights have become an important aspect.
Significance of this day
Consumer Protection Act, 1986 ensures speedy and inexpensive settlements of consumer disputes. The eight rights recognized under the Consumer Protection Act, 1986 includes six rights of the consumers provided in the UN charter.
The rights given to consumers under Consumer Protection Act, 1986 are Right to Protection, Right of Information, Right of Choice, Right of Hearing, Right of Redressal, and Right of Education.
विश्व उपभोक्ता अधिकार दिवस 2021 15 मार्च को पर्यावरण के टूटने और वैश्विक जलवायु परिवर्तन के बारे में जागरूकता फैलाने के लिए “द सस्टेनेबल कंज्यूमर” थीम के साथ मनाया गया था।
यह दिवस उपभोक्ता अधिकारों और आवश्यकताओं के बारे में वैश्विक जागरूकता बढ़ाने के लिए हर साल 15 मार्च को मनाया जाता है।
विश्व उपभोक्ता अधिकार दिवस राष्ट्रपति जॉन एफ कैनेडी से प्रेरित था, जिन्होंने 15 मार्च 1962 को अमेरिकी कांग्रेस को एक विशेष संदेश भेजा था, जिसमें उन्होंने औपचारिक रूप से उपभोक्ता अधिकारों के मुद्दे को संबोधित किया था। ऐसा करने वाले वह पहले विश्व नेता थे।
यह कंज्यूमर्स इंटरनेशनल के नेतृत्व में है, जो दुनिया भर के उपभोक्ता समूहों के लिए लाभ के लिए सदस्यता संगठन नहीं है। इसका प्रधान कार्यालय लंदन, इंग्लैंड में स्थित है।
राष्ट्रीय उपभोक्ता अधिकार दिवस 2021: हम सभी किसी न किसी तरह से उपभोक्ता हैं। आज के दिन और उम्र में, उपभोक्ता के अधिकारों की रक्षा एक महत्वपूर्ण पहलू बन गया है।
इस दिन का महत्व:
उपभोक्ता संरक्षण अधिनियम, 1986 उपभोक्ता विवादों का त्वरित और सस्ती निपटान सुनिश्चित करता है। उपभोक्ता संरक्षण अधिनियम, 1986 के तहत मान्यता प्राप्त आठ अधिकारों में संयुक्त राष्ट्र के चार्टर में प्रदत्त उपभोक्ताओं के छह अधिकार शामिल हैं।
उपभोक्ता संरक्षण अधिनियम, 1986 के तहत उपभोक्ताओं को दिए गए अधिकार राइट टू प्रोटेक्शन, सूचना का अधिकार, पसंद का अधिकार, सुनवाई का अधिकार, निवारण का अधिकार और शिक्षा का अधिकार हैं।
