PM Modi first announced lockdown for 21 days which started on 25th March till 14th April but as coronavirus is upgrading itself every day in the country PM with other government bodies decided to make sure of extension of national lockdown. Lockdown 2.0 started on 15th April and going to last till 3rd May 2020 in the whole nation. In this duration, a lot of people planned to travel from air services of India which got cancelled because of coronavirus lockdown and after that a lot of passenger complaint on social media that Aviation companies are giving a refund after cancellation not refunding the amount or issuing the credit voucher for future travel.
Now because of lockdown all domestic and international passenger flights have been cancelled or suspended by the government to avoid increment in coronavirus cases and that’s why passengers are asking a refund for their flights. Now on Thursday Civil Aviation Ministry gave orders to all aviation companies to refund the amount of passenger who booked tickets in the first phase of lockdown which means for passengers who wanted to travel in between of 15th April to 3rd May and this refund has to be done within 3 weeks from their cancellation request day. This kind of measures was also taken by Us government earlier this month and asked aviation companies to issue a refund to passengers for the ticket cancellation request and the same kind of measures are also taken by Indian Aviation Ministry to give the refund to passengers for those who requested cancellation from the companies.
