CTET Exam 2020 Scheme
CTET (Central Teacher’s Eligibility Test) Exam 2020 is scheduled for 5th July 2020. The exam will be conducted in pen and paper mode. Candidates who have applied for the exam must certainly be aware of the exam pattern and should be practicing the model papers and previous year papers by now.
To ease the process for those unaware of the examination scheme, we have listed for the basic details for CTET aspirants.
The exam for CTET is conducted in two sessions: Paper 1 and Paper 2. Questions asked in the exam are objective type questions in pen and paper mode. A candidate is allotted 2:30 hrs. for the exam.
Paper 1 is held for Class 1 to 5 teachers
Paper 2 is held for Class 6 to 8 teachers

Syllabus for CTET Examination
Examination syllabus for Paper 1 and Paper 2 is different.
PAPER 1 (For teachers from Class 1 to 5) | |
Child Development and Pedagogy | Educational psychology of teaching and learning relevant to the age group of 6-11 years. Focus on understanding the characteristics and needs of diverse learners, interaction with learners and the attributes and qualities of a good facilitator of learning. |
Language I | Focus on the proficiency related to the medium of instruction. |
Language II | Focus on the elements of language, communication and comprehension abilities. |
Mathematics | Focus on the concepts, problem solving abilities and pedagogical understanding of the subjects. In all these subject areas, the test items will be evenly distributed over different divisions of the syllabus of that subject prescribed for classes 1– 5 by the NCERT |
Environmental Studies | |
PAPER 2 (For teachers from Class 6 to 8) | |
Child Development and Pedagogy | Focus on educational psychology of teaching and learning, relevant to the age group of 11-14 years. They will focus on understanding the characteristics, needs and psychology of diverse learners, interaction with learners and the attributes and qualities of a good facilitator of learning. |
Language I | Focus on the proficiency related to the medium of instruction |
Language II | Focus on the elements of language, communication and comprehension abilities. |
Mathematics and Science OR Social Studies | Focus on the concepts, problem solving abilities and pedagogical understanding of the subjects. The test items of Mathematics and Science will be of 30 marks each. The test items will be evenly distributed over different divisions of the syllabus of that subject as prescribed for classes 6-8 by the NCERT. |
